In a glass, the De Krans Garden Route Shiraz 2022 captivates with its deep plum color, offering an enticing bouquet filled with dark berries and ripe plums, complemented by subtle hints of cherry tobacco and finely ground white pepper. On the palate, it reveals layers of fresh plum and intriguing spices, with an underlying complexity of mulberry and cherry. Its smooth, well-structured tannins and harmoniously integrated acidity create a delightful balance, culminating in a polished and rounded wine.
Das handgelesene Traubengut wurde bei Ankunft im Keller komplett entrappt, gequetscht und in offene Fermenter gegeben, wo es über Nacht ruhen gelassen wurde. Am nächsten Morgen wurde der Maische Hefe zugefügt, die den Gärprozess einleitete. Während der Gärung wurde der Saft regelmäßig umgepumpt, um ein Maximum an Farbe, Aromen und Geschmacksnuancen zu extrahieren. Nach Abschluss der Fermentierung wurde der Wein von der Haut abgepresst und zur malolaktischen Gärung in Eichenfässer umgefüllt. Nach Beendigung der malolaktischen Fermentierung reifte der Wein 12 Monate lang in einer Kombination aus dritt- sowie viertbefüllten Fässern aus französischem Eichenholz. Nur die besten Fässer wurden nach Abschluss der Reifung verschnitten und abgefüllt.
