The Stellenzicht Thunderstone Chardonnay captivates the senses with vibrant aromas of fresh citrus, ripe apricots, and luscious mango, complemented by floral hints of white blossoms. A prolonged aging on the lees adds remarkable layers to its texture and a medley of nuances, while partial aging in older oak barrels imparts delightful notes of biscuits and a lingering finish.
The grapes were harvested in the early hours and pressed whole upon arrival at the cellar. The resulting juice was cooled and rested in stainless steel tanks for 24 hours. After racking, selected yeasts were added, and the juice was partially filled into 300l and 500l barrels. Following fermentation, the barrels were topped up with the wine fermented in steel, allowing the entire blend to mature for 12 months before bottling.
