The Afrikaans Vol. VII Chenin Blanc Chardonnay enchants with an aromatic and fruity bouquet, where notes of lemon, peach, and pineapple gracefully intertwine with hints of baked apple crumble and vanilla. Afrikaans is a wine series that pays tribute to the rich culture, language, and terroir of South Africa. The collection includes both a red and a white cuvée, meticulously created to showcase the unique characteristics of South Africa's terroirs. These wines are bottled in limited editions to ensure exclusivity and a personal touch in every bottle. Die Trauben für diesen Wein stammen aus Devon Valley und Polkadraai in Stellenbosch. Die kühlenden Meeresbrisen entlang der Küste helfen hier, die natürliche Säure zu bewahren, während das warme Klima der Region für reife Fruchtaromen und duftige Nuancen sorgte.
Die Chenin Blanc- und Chardonnay-Trauben wurden als ganze Trauben gepresst und anschließend langsam und kühl in neuen sowie gebrauchten Eichenfässern vergoren. Anschließend reifte der Wein sechs Monate lang auf der Feinhefe, um die Textur zu verfeinern. Ein Anteil von 18 % neuem Eichenholz trug zur Fülle und zum Mundgefühl des Weins bei.
