Alvi's Drift Albertus Viljoen Bismarck Red Blend is a strikingly elegant and full-bodied Cape Blend from Alvi’s Drift's Ultra Premium collection. Deeply pigmented, it opens with classic Shiraz notes of black and white pepper, nuanced spices, and luscious dark fruits such as blackberries and ripe plums. These aromas, captured by the nose, gracefully transition onto the palate, where they reveal delightful flavor layers accompanied by velvety, rich tannins, culminating in a prolonged finish. Despite its remarkable fullness and complexity, this exceptional wine expresses freshness and fruitiness with refined finesse!
Das Traubengut für den Albertus Viljoen Bismarck Red Blend stammt ausschließlich von handgelesen Trauben aus eigenen Weinbergen der Kellerei. In den frühen Morgenstunden gelesen, wurde das Traubengut noch kühl am ganzen Bund zur Kellerei transportiert, wo es zunächst in traditionell offenen Gärtanks gequetscht wurde. Mit Einsatz der Gärung wurde der Tresterhut bis zu achtmal täglich per Hand untergetaucht, um ein Maximum an Geschmacksnuancen, Farbe und komplexen Aromen in den Wein zu übertragen. Nach Abschluss der Gärung reifte der Wein 22 Monate lang in einer Kombination aus französischen und amerikanischen Eichenfässern, von denen ein gutes Drittel Neuholz ausmachten.
