The Ataraxia Chardonnay Skin Contact is an extraordinary expression crafted by Chardonnay maestro Kevin Grant. This acclaimed wine underwent fermentation on its skins, with a maturation process following in older barriques. With a limited production of just five barrels, it showcases a unique waxy texture complemented by a subtle tannin structure, refreshing acidity, and delightful mineral notes. Hints of spice add an intriguing complexity to its profile.

This wine represents an exciting variation in Ataraxia's Chardonnay range. It is the first fully skin-fermented Chardonnay from Ataraxia.
The hand-harvested grapes were destemmed and gently pressed before being transferred with skins, seeds, and pulp into two small fermenters to initiate spontaneous fermentation. No additives were used during this process. Following fermentation, the wine aged for 11 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation taking place.
