The Bartinney Hourglass Chardonnay captivates the senses with a bouquet of ripe yellow citrus fruits and subtle hints of yeast that entice the nose. On the palate, this opulent fragrance evolves into a heavenly mouthfeel reminiscent of Crème Brûlée, complemented by roasted cashew nuts and a touch of brioche. The wine's robust oak structure, characterized by its almost masculine qualities, harmonizes beautifully with a remarkably creamy and lingering finish, offering a sublime tasting experience from start to finish!
The sloped vineyards allow the grapes to ripen at varying stages. Only fully ripe grapes are selected, destemmed, and left to rest for two days before being transferred into 225L oak barrels, with 50% being new oak. Light (blond) toasting ensures that strong roasting and smoky aromas do not overpower the wine's exquisite fruit nuances. After fermentation, part of the wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation, followed by approximately 11 months of aging in barrels before bottling.
