The Bellingham Bernard Series Basket Press Syrah 2022 is a bold and aromatic wine that presents a compelling character while balancing delicate finesse. A vibrant tapestry of freshly ground black and white pepper intertwines with luscious dark chocolate, enriched by intense notes of blackberry and mulberry, while subtle hints of floral violet and dried Fynbos elevate the complexity. This wine showcases a generously structured palate with mature tannins, culminating in an exquisitely smooth finish that invites contemplation and delight.
Das Traubengut für diesen exquisiten Shiraz wurde handgelesen und bei Ankunft in der Kellerei Beere für Beere und Bund für Bund mit großer Sorgfalt handsortiert. Anschließend wurden die Beeren leicht angequetscht und in offenen 500 L Fässern aus französischer Eiche spontan vergoren, bevor es zur sanften Pressung in die traditionelle Korbpresse ging. Der junge Wein wurde dann zurück in die französischen Barriques gefüllt, wo die malolaktische Gärung ihren Abschluss fand und der Wein für weitere 12 Monate reifen durfte.
