The Bellingham Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc is a true expression of its cool climate origin, offering breathtaking aromas of stone fruit, pineapple, and delicate notes of ripe lime and orange marmalade, underpinned by hints of cedar and subtle oak spice. The palate is lush yet vibrant, showcasing pronounced green apple nuances that linger through to the finish, providing delightful enjoyment. The grapes were harvested in two phases by hand, with the first portion undergoing natural fermentation in a mix of oak barrels, concrete tanks, and clay amphorae, creating a wonderfully fruity bouquet. The later-harvested, riper grapes were also naturally fermented in older barrels, contributing to a rich mouthfeel. After fermentation, the wines aged for 10 months with regular batonnage before blending and bottling. This wine was matured in concrete tanks, clay amphorae, and foudres (2500L).
