The Bellingham The Bernard Series Bushvine Pinotage is an exquisite showcase of South Africa's native varietal. This Pinotage highlights its elegant profile, revealing the character of red fruits inherited from its parent grapes, Pinot Noir and Cinsault. With a deep ruby hue adorned by violet reflections, it opens with generous aromas of black cherries, ripe mulberries, and raspberry jam. These are complemented by hints of plum pudding, smoked meat, and nuanced truffle notes, all beautifully integrated with oak in a long, juicy finish.
The Bernard Series pays homage to the determination and unconventional spirit of Bellingham's co-founder, Bernard Podlashuk.
The hand-harvested grapes from dry-farmed, low-yield bush vines were meticulously selected for this process and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine aged for 12 months in oak barriques, of which 6% were new wood.
