Chris Albrecht, winemaker at Bouchard Finlayson, is excited about the 2025 harvest.
"As winemakers, we are always aware of the prevailing weather conditions during harvest – much of what ultimately ends up in the bottle is determined by this. Thus, I am pleased to announce that the 2025 harvest took place under nearly perfect conditions: dry, moderately cool days filled with sunshine," explains Chris Albrecht.
Although there were some delays, the vineyards were harvested on time and at optimal ripeness. The quality of the fruit was immaculate, and the team wasn't hindered by heavy showers. The yields were healthy and balanced – a strength of this already remarkable vintage.
"This is exactly the kind of harvest we dream of. I recommend ensuring you make enough room in your cellar for this vintage," Chris enthusiastically advises.

The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Festival 2025 in Hemel-en-Aarde Valley was a resounding success, offering an unforgettable celebration of the unique terroir and extraordinary wines of the region.
This iconic event has been dedicated to the world-renowned Pinot Noir for ten years – and this year, Chardonnay was included in the festival program for the first time.
Guests enjoyed tastings, masterclasses, and live entertainment, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the valley's natural beauty. The event provided an opportunity to discover the finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays and learn more about the artistry of crafting these noble varietals.
With its warm atmosphere and outstanding wines, the festival proved to be a must-attend – a date to mark down for next year.
Guided Vineyard Walk.
Embark on an unforgettable walk through the vineyards of Bouchard Finlayson and enjoy a curated wine tasting. The walk is accompanied by a knowledgeable ambassador.
The walks take place daily at 09:00 and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. The experience costs R175 per person and includes a guided tour, a map, and a bottle of water.
