The cherished Slow Market has relocated to Nederburg in Paarl. This institution has been a beloved attraction for both tourists and locals, influencing many small entrepreneurs during its 13 years in Stellenbosch.
To celebrate its new home in Paarl, everyone is invited on Friday, December 10th. The market's regular trading hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while evening markets commence at 5:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM.
Expect an inspiring selection of street food chefs, artisans, florists, food vendors, jewelers, Slow Food producers, and locally sourced products. Welcome back favorites like Black Olive Cape Malay Curries, Monsef's legendary shawarmas, and Willem Viljoen's Boeremusiek RSG sausages.
Chef Laudon will serve his famous lamb burgers in generous portions. New experiences include single-origin coffee served with chocolate cups and a small ice deli featuring daring umami flavors. Corne returns with her local and imported cheeses, alongside many local producers showcasing delicious homemade delights from the Paarl region.
The crafts and fashion area will brim with jewelry, designer clothing, South African souvenirs, and local designs for you, your children, and even your pets.
Slow down is the motto! Relax and enjoy the live music every weekend while the kids engage in the thrilling new play area with climbing frames, zip lines, treehouses, swings, and more. Fun games will be available for everyone to meet and play the old-fashioned way. The venue boasts high ceilings, good ventilation, and ample space, making it perfect for families and friends to connect safely. All vendors and market staff adhere strictly to Covid regulations.
