The Boekenhoutskloof Sémillon unveils a delicate golden hue, enchanting the senses with a bouquet of fragrant orange blossoms, ripe nectarines, aromatic lemongrass, and rich beeswax. On the palate, it begins softly, revealing enticing notes of white peaches, mandarin, fine lemon cream, lime syrup, ginger, blood orange, and tarragon. This remarkably full-bodied and opulent wine maintains a defined focus thanks to its well-balanced acidity, adding a delightful lift to the intensity of the mid-palate. It finishes vibrantly with a subtle saline touch, echoing notes of poached quince, chamomile flowers, and fenugreek.
Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes underwent fermentation in barriques, clay amphorae, and concrete lagares. After fermentation, the wine aged for 14 months at a controlled temperature of 5 to 8°C. A small portion of Muscat d'Alexandrie was fermented on the skins and matured in clay amphorae.
