Boschendal Lanoy 2022 is a classic blend that beautifully showcases the heritage of South African winemaking. This elegant cuvée, composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, entices with opulent aromas of blackcurrants, ripe plums, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it reveals a well-rounded body with short oak contact that enhances its fruit-forward character. The dark berry flavors elegantly harmonize with mature tannins, culminating in a lingering and rich finish that captures the wine's charm and charisma.
The fermentation varied by grape variety, lasting between eight to ten days to achieve optimal dryness, color, and aroma. Ten percent of the wine aged in new French oak barrels, while 15% rested in second-fill barrels, and 25% in third-fill barrels for one year. The remaining was matured in large oak casks and stainless steel tanks.
