This exquisite wine is a rare gem! Bosman Nero Rosé is the first rosé made in South Africa from the Sicilian grape variety Nero d'Avola. Thriving in the sun-drenched, low-water soils of Africa, this elegant and aromatic wine showcases scents of red berries and stone fruits, complemented by a hint of white blossoms. A crisp acidity with vibrant pomegranate notes leads to a silky elegance on the palate, finishing with a touch of red berry fruits.
The grapes were hand-harvested earlier than those used for red wines to ensure lower sugar levels and higher acidity. Upon arrival at the cellar, they were meticulously sorted and destemmed. The fermentation took place only during pressing. After two days of clarification at low temperatures, the clear juice was separated from the lees and inoculated with yeast. A long, slow fermentation followed for six weeks at cool temperatures to allow for flavor and aroma development. The wine aged on fine lees for three months to enhance complexity and structure before bottling.
