Cirrus Wines are named after the ethereal clouds that drift above the high-altitude vineyards of the Witzenberg mountains on the Ceres Plateau. Cirrus Pinot Noir 2022 is the third vintage crafted from this exceptional vineyard located 1026 meters above sea level. Here, temperate summers, snowy winters, and intense sunlight create an environment that yields a distinctive South African Pinot Noir.
This wine captivates with vivacious aromas of ripe red cherries, cranberry, lingonberry, and a whisper of cotton candy, enriched by hints of sweet mint and earthy vanilla undertones. The palate is a gentle dance of soft, subtle tannins complemented by brisk acidity and a fresh, floral berry finish.
Approximately 70% of the grapes are fermented whole-bunch, preserving pure fruit aromas and intensity, while the remaining 30% are crushed for gentle tannin extraction. Aging occurs in 500-liter French oak barrels for 14 months, imparting structure, complexity, and aging potential.
