The David & Nadia Elpidios 2023 is an exquisite Swartland blend, created by the esteemed David & Nadia Sadie. This masterful cuvée features a harmonious interplay of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, and Pinotage, delivering a full-bodied wine with a velvety texture and an intoxicating Rhône-style profile. On the palate, it reveals layers of ripe blackberries, effervescent raspberries, and a bouquet of wild herbs, framed by a vibrant acidity and well-structured tannins that enhance its complexity.
This vintage includes a portion of Grenache and Syrah fermented and matured in a concrete egg. The wine also aged in neutral, older 500L French oak barrels, with the Pinotage component in 4000L foudres. After bottling, it matured for 18 months in the bottle.
