With a deep ruby hue, the De Krans Tinta Roriz captivates the eye and entices the nose with its layered aromas of red fruits and subtle spices. Planted in 2008 in the Klein Karoo, these vines thrive on arid, rocky soils that drain towards the Gamka River, akin to the famed Douro Valley. All vines are trellised and irrigated with precision, ensuring optimal growth.
The grapes are hand-harvested, promptly cooled, and inoculated with selected yeast to initiate fermentation. They are pressed only afterward, leading into malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in older French oak barrels, specifically sixth and seventh fill, for 12 months.
