With an alluring pale yellow hue, the De Trafford Chenin Blanc 2023 unfolds vibrant aromas of freshly squeezed lime and juicy peach, accented by delicate notes of lemon balm, fynbos honey, ripe pear, and floral nuances. This esteemed wine showcases a beautifully smooth and creamy palate, bursting with intricate flavor layers and a delightful richness. Its finish is impressively long and luxurious, leaving a lasting impression.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes for this elegant and complex Chenin Blanc were lightly crushed and underwent a three-hour skin contact phase before being gently pressed in a traditional basket press. The juice obtained was treated with sulphite and left to rest for two days before being vinified 100% in French oak barrels and aged for nine months. During maturation, the lees were stirred regularly to achieve a fuller mouthfeel and perfect concentration in the wine. 15% of the barrels were new, while the remaining barrels were previously used. After maturation, the wine was lightly refined with natural bentonite clay and bottled unfiltered by hand.
