The Eikendal Charisma is a captivating blend of Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Sangiovese, artfully combining elements of Rhône and Bordeaux with an Italian flair. The Shiraz (48%) forms a structured and fresh backbone, delivering aromatic spices and vibrant fruit notes. Meanwhile, the Petit Verdot (39%) adds rich blackberry characteristics, lending depth and complexity. Completing this enchanting triad, the Sangiovese (13%) infuses delightful fruit-driven nuances, resulting in a wine that is irresistibly seductive and harmoniously balanced. With its rich provenance from the Stellenbosch region, this blend is a true testament to the artistry of winemaking.
The three varietals in this intriguing blend were vinified separately. The grapes were destemmed but not crushed, undergoing a cold maceration phase lasting ten to fifteen days. The wines matured for ten months in 500-liter barrels, before being skillfully blended. The Sangiovese always includes a portion from the previous vintage to bring freshness and Italian zest. Finally, the completed blend was aged for an additional three months in stainless steel tanks before being lightly filtered and bottled for optimal enjoyment.
