Information about "Fairview Petite Sirah 2022"
The Fairview Petite Sirah 2022 captivates with its deep, inky color and an array of enticing aromas. Expect notes of vanilla, spiced plum, and black cherry to waft from the glass, creating an inviting fragrance. On the palate, this wine is wonderfully silky and creamy, showcasing its robust tannin structure alongside tempting flavors of black olives and delicate spices. Petite Sirah, known also as Durif, is a remarkable varietal resulting from the natural crossing of Syrah and Peloursin, first discovered in southern France in 1880. Due to its intense color and excellent tannic framework, it serves as an exceptional blending partner. Predominantly cultivated in California and Australia, it gained its foothold in South Africa thanks to the efforts of Fairview’s owner, Charles Back, who introduced it after sampling it during his travels. The warm climate of South Africa is well-suited for the flourishing of Petite Sirah, making this wine a unique representation as the only Petite Sirah available from the region.
