The Ghost Corner Semillon boasts a wonderfully concentrated and focused profile, revealing vibrant aromas of lemon and lime intertwined with subtle notes of juicy pineapple, green melon, and a hint of fig leaf. The wine's texture and viscosity on the palate come from extended contact with the lees, balancing its weight with a refreshingly crisp finish of green apple.

Inspired by the extreme coastal region of Cape Agulhas near Elim, known in Afrikaans as 'Spookdraai,' or ghost turn, this vineyard is rich in maritime history where many ships met their fate. The wines from this series are as intriguing and dynamic as the tales of their origins at the southernmost tip of the Cape Winelands.

Treatment in the cellar

The hand-harvested grapes were crushed at a controlled 8°C and left on skin for eight hours before pressing. After pressing, the juice rested for two days, was racked from the sediment, and inoculated with selected yeasts. 30% of the juice was fermented and matured for five months in French oak barrels of 225 l, while 70% fermented for 24 hours at a regulated 11°C in stainless steel tanks, aging on the fine lees for four months before blending and bottling.
