Glenelly Lady May is the flagship wine of Glenelly, embodying the essence of Stellenbosch, South Africa's prestigious wine region. This 2020 Bordeaux blend pays tribute to Lady May, the legendary owner, featuring a special label to commemorate her 100th birthday. Aromas of rich dark berries intertwine with hints of mocha and cedar, creating a captivating bouquet. On the palate, it reveals sweet fruit notes, velvety tannins, and a long, refined finish, making it a true testament to both Lady May and this exceptional tribute wine.
The grapes were gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks using exclusively natural yeasts. After fermentation, the wine rested on its skins for two to three weeks before being gently pressed. It underwent malolactic fermentation in French barriques, aging for 12 months as individual components in 30-40% new 300L barrels. The final blend consists of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.
