Hartenberg The Megan 2020 is an esteemed and award-winning red wine blend crafted in the classic style of the southern Rhône. Its vibrant, deep color hints at a lively bouquet of red cherries, cranberries, and herbal shrub nuances, intertwined with subtle spices. On the palate, this creamy and hearty wine reveals a flavor explosion that culminates in a long-lasting, smooth finish.
This wine pays tribute to Megan Mackenzie, wife of Ken 'Stork' Mackenzie, whose family still owns the Hartenberg Wine Estate. Megan’s love story with Ken began in school, later marrying and sharing a twenty-four-year journey together. Initially involved in the family business, she was also a celebrated harpist, planting the seeds for the future acquisition of Hartenberg Wine Estate during their honeymoon in 1952 at the Cape. Tragically, Megan passed away in her prime, and Ken never remarried.
