The The Galvanised Chardonnay unveils a bouquet of delicate floral aromas, fresh herbs, and ripe citrus, gracefully complemented by a subtle yeast spice. On the palate, it is crisp and linear, showcasing juicy fruit, vibrant acidity, and a pleasantly bitter, structured finish. This Chardonnay beautifully reflects the cool elevation of the Banhoek vineyard at 450 meters, exuding balance, finesse, and a concentrated yet never overpowering style.
Die Trauben stammen aus einem 21 Jahre alten Chardonnay-Weinberg in Spaliererziehung, gelegen auf der Summercourt Farm am Simonsberg auf 400 m Höhe. Nach sorgfältiger Handlese und Sortierung wurden sie schonend als ganze Trauben gepresst. Der Most wurde über Nacht bei 10 °C vorgeklärt, bevor er zur spontanen Gärung in gebrauchte französische Eichenfässer (225 l und 300 l) kam. Auch die malolaktische Gärung verlief natürlich. Es wurde bewusst auf eine intensive Bâtonnage verzichtet, um Frische und Präzision zu bewahren.
