Radiating a brilliant, deep purple hue, the Keermont Amphitheatre 2018 unfolds with an enticing bouquet of ripe strawberry, delicate vanilla, and notes of sweet citrus blossoms, creating a sensory celebration. On the palate, this distinguished Bordeaux-style blend, enhanced by touches of Shiraz and Mourvèdre, showcases a firm tannic structure intertwined with a delectable array of nuances—from ripe plums and aromatic berries to hints of herbs and subtle oak. The finish is remarkably long and juicy, leaving a lingering impression of cherry and gripping tannins.
This vintage has matured for five years in bottle within the Keermont cellar to achieve perfect integration and aging, with a total production of just 3,685 bottles.
The grapes for the Amphitheatre were handpicked at optimal ripeness and vinified separately. Fermentation occurred gently and naturally in open fermenters using traditional methods. After fermentation, the wines were blended, and the cuvée aged for 29 months in a mix of first, second, and third-fill French oak barrels before being bottled without filtration. Prior to release, the wine spent an additional five years in bottle in the Keermont cellar to ensure perfect integration and maturity.
