The Ladybird Red dazzles with its deep, dark hue, revealing an array of intense aromas that intertwine with wild berries, fragrant cigar boxes, and rich dark chocolate. This medium to full-bodied blend showcases a harmonious medley of juicy fruit notes alongside elegantly soft tannins, resulting in a wine of remarkable complexity and depth. It culminates in a dry, lingering, and smooth finish—truly a generous offering that delivers exceptional value. The composition boasts 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot.
Crafted from organically grown grapes harvested from low-yield vineyards, the Ladybird Red benefits from the natural pest control provided by approximately 3,000 ladybirds in Stellenbosch's first organically certified vineyard.
The grapes for the Ladybird Red are hand-selected and fully de-stemmed. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, utilizing only wild yeast in open 4.5-ton tanks, with no added cultivated yeast. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12-14 months in small French oak barrels.
