The Lemberg Cape Blend 2023 is an exquisite fusion showcasing vibrant red fruit aromas. Syrah contributes rich fruit and intriguing spice, harmoniously complementing the structure and tannins of Pinotage, while delicate nuances from Pinot Noir add complexity. Inviting hints of anise and raspberry mingle with a touch of cinnamon and dried orange peel, creating a distinct and memorable tasting experience. This blend consists of 42% Syrah, 36% Pinotage, 11% Pinot Noir, and 11% Grenache Noir.
The grapes for the Lemberg Cape Blend were harvested in the cool early morning, sorted, and underwent a 48-hour cold soak. Syrah fermented and matured in 5000 L French oak casks, while Pinotage and Mourvedre aged in previously used French barriques (225L, 300L, and 500L) after fermentation. After a 12-month aging period, all components were blended and aged for an additional two months in barrel before bottling.
