The Cape Leopard Trust
In the mountains of the Cape Winelands, a small population of Cape leopards thrives, only about half the size of their northern relatives and critically endangered. The Cape Leopard Trust, with significant financial support from Leopard's Leap Wines, is dedicated to protecting these captivating creatures and their natural habitat.
The handpicked grapes were destemmed and crushed separately, fermented under controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the tank was infused with oak staves, completing malolactic fermentation. The wines were blended and matured for six to eight months in steel tanks with staves in use. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot.
