The Lomond Pincushion Sauvignon Blanc showcases a brilliant clarity with vibrant green tints in the glass. The nose presents a stunning bouquet of apricot, peach, and white stone fruit, coupled with fresh citrus aromas. True to the characteristics of a Sauvignon Blanc from the Cape Agulhas region, the palate is graced with distinctive notes of fine oyster shell minerality, complemented by fruit-driven hints of white stone fruit and lemongrass.
Surrounded by the indigenous flora known as Fynbos, Lomond's vineyards thrive. This single vineyard wine is named after a vulnerable species endemic to the Agulhas region: Leucospermum patersonii, or the Silver-Edge Pincushion.
The juice was cold-fermented at 13ºC - 15ºC to preserve the natural grape aromas. The wine then aged for eight months on the lees before filtration and bottling.
The grapes come from a registered single vineyard, carefully selected for its unique terroir characteristics; the soils are predominantly sandy clay loams.
