Longridge Organic Ou Steen Chenin Blanc 2024 is a beautifully crafted wine from the renowned Stellenbosch region, inspired by the prestigious Vouvray Demi-Sec wines of the Loire Valley. This organic Chenin Blanc presents an enticing bouquet of marmalade, orange blossoms, and ripe apricots, seamlessly blending with zesty lime and a hint of honeycomb. On the palate, a vibrant acidity balances the sweetness, leading to a lingering finish enriched by notes of candied orange peel, grapefruit, and a touch of vanilla pod. Crafted exclusively in exceptional vintages, this wine exemplifies the unique terroir that defines its character and age-ability.
The wine is pressed from whole grapes and fermented using wild yeast in mature French puncheons (300L barrels). It undergoes 10 to 12 months of aging in these barrels. In line with an ultra-natural, terroir-driven approach, the wine is made without enzymes and fining, bottled unfiltered. While it is enjoyable now, further aging is recommended, with improvements expected over the next ten years.
