Meerlust Rubicon presents a deep violet hue, alluring the senses with its captivating bouquet of violets, ripe black plums, and blackberries. Notes of cassis mingle with hints of cedarwood, an enticing bouquet garni, and a hint of potpourri spices. On the palate, this wine is youthful yet intense, boasting a full-bodied character with fresh dark fruit and rounded tannins. The individually vinified wines matured for eight months, with 60% in new Nevers oak and 40% in second-fill barrels. The final blend reflects the vintage, as each varietal contributes its unique terroir and flavor profile, beautifully expressed in 2022. Following the blend, all wines aged as a cuvée for an additional ten months in barrel before bottling.
