Radiating a brilliant straw hue, the Miles Mossop The Introduction Chenin Blanc 2024 invites with an alluring bouquet of Chenin aromas. The nose is a delightful medley of white blossoms, yellow peaches, pineapple, and zesty citrus. On the palate, it starts with a vibrant fruitiness, revealing notes of grapefruit and stone fruits. The mid-palate is creamy yet beautifully balanced, leading to a structured, taut finish that showcases breathtaking freshness.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes are harvested by hand at different times and degrees of ripeness to express both the fresh stone fruit notes of Chenin Blanc and the more mature notes of yellow fruit, while preserving acidity and freshness.
The grapes were pressed whole and clarified overnight in the tank. 80% of the wine fermented in stainless steel tanks, 18% in old 400-litre French oak barrels and 2% in a concrete egg.
Fermentation began with natural yeasts and lasted about three weeks. The wines matured on the coarse lees for six months before being blended and bottled.
The wine was bottled in August 2023.
