The Plaisir Merlot showcases a vibrant garnet hue with a bright ruby rim, exuding captivating aromas of violet, sweet plums, and dark fruits intertwined with subtle graphite nuances. This full-bodied red indulges the palate with luscious notes of ripe plums and blackberries, striking a harmonious balance of tannins and acidity. A generous and complex Merlot, it offers impressive length and elegance.
The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness from two distinct vineyards, destemmed upon arrival, meticulously sorted, and placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation at a controlled temperature of 24°C. Daily pumping over maximized extraction of color, tannins, and flavor nuances. After fermentation, the wine spent six to eight months on skins before pressing, undergoing malolactic fermentation partly in oak barrels and partly in tank, finally aged in 300L French Barriques (35% new wood) for 12 to 16 months before blending and bottling.
