The Porseleinberg Syrah 2023 is a striking representation of Swartland's terroir, showcasing the region's potential through its remarkable depth and complexity. This award-winning wine captivates the senses with its enticing aromas of incense, thyme, and black pepper, harmoniously interwoven with rich notes of blackberry, red berries, and a touch of licorice. It boasts a firm tannic structure and a rocky, mineral core, establishing itself as a world-class varietal. Since its inaugural vintage in 2010, the Porseleinberg Syrah has consistently garnered acclaim, embodying the essence of this distinguished appellation.
The hand-harvested grapes were whole-cluster fermented in concrete tanks, where they were traditionally stomped and fermented naturally. Throughout fermentation, the cap was submerged twice daily. After fermentation, the wine aged for 12 months, with 70% in barrels and 30% in concrete eggs, before being bottled.
