The Raats Family Cabernet Franc 2022 is a distinguished wine crafted from vines that are over 20 years old. Its captivating bouquet unfolds rich notes of aromatic Cape Fynbos, rosemary, and lavender, enticing the senses with the subtle hints of thyme, nutmeg, clove, and star anise. The palate is further enriched by deep layers of dark blackberry fruit, graphite, and a whisper of minerality, creating remarkable aromatic complexity. Hand-harvested and meticulously sorted, the grapes underwent crushing and were left on their skins for five days. After fermentation, the wine was pressed using a traditional basket press. Malolactic fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months of maturation in French barriques (25% new oak).
