Information about "Radford Dale Syrah 2021"

Radford Dale Syrah 2021 embodies the essence of South Africa's Helderberg region, masterfully intertwining classic Rhône character with the unique terroir. On the nose, it reveals intricate layers of dark fruit complemented by exotic spice notes, offering a glimpse into its complexity. The palate is a testament to its structure, featuring restrained elegance and a beautifully fine tannin profile that is characteristic of Stellenbosch's distinctive terroir. Enjoy flavors of ripe dark berries intermingled with hints of black pepper that unfold on the mid-palate, culminating in a refreshing yet slightly herbal finish that lingers.

Treatment in the cellar

The grapes were handpicked in the early morning, sorted, destemmed, and crushed. A 'cold soak' at low temperatures followed, with a small portion (20%) fermented whole bunch. This method enhances varietal sharpness and complexity. Natural fermentation occurred without added yeast; after fermentation, the grapes were pressed, and the wine aged for 18 months in barrels before being bottled unfiltered.
