The Restless River Ava Marie Chardonnay 2022 is a captivating expression of the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, revealing an enticing bouquet of oatmeal, flint, and lemongrass. The palate is gracefully layered with subtle baking spices, beeswax, and citrus peel, enhanced by a creamy texture derived from extended lees contact. This remarkable Chardonnay strikes a delicate balance between freshness and richness, making it a standout choice for discerning wine enthusiasts.
Die Trauben wurden von Hand geerntet und als ganze Trauben gepresst. Die Gärung erfolgte mit einheimischer Hefe unter Verwendung von 90 % französischer Eiche (10 % neu) und 10 % unbeschichteten toskanischen Terrakotta-Amphoren, wodurch sich das Terroir auf natürliche Weise entfalten konnte. Nach 12 Monaten im Fass reifte der Wein weiter in der Flasche und entwickelte zusätzliche Komplexität.
