A 48-hour cold soak occurred before fermentation to maximize color and fruit extraction. The malolactic fermentation took place in barrels, with the Pinotage aging for 22 months in a mix of 60% French and 40% American oak, utilizing 40% new barrels, 30% second-fill, and 30% third-fill.
