A vivid garnet red, the Rust en Vrede Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon captivates with aromas of ripe red and black plum, layered with hints of dark chocolate, pencil shavings, and fragrant cedar, showcasing the classic complexity characteristic of Helderberg Cabernets. The palate is impeccably structured, boasting a fresh acidity and robust tannins. Flavors of cherry from the nose resonate on the palate, beautifully complemented by intricate notes of cassis, blackberry, mocha, and a delicate touch of dried wild herbs.
Crafted exclusively from estate-grown grapes, handpicked and sorted. Harvest blocks and clones are vinified separately. Grapes are destemmed, crushed, and pumped into open fermentation tanks, undergoing a 21-day maceration phase with a seven-day fermentation involving 2-4 daily pump-overs and manual punching down. Aged in 100% French 300-liter oak barrels (20% new oak) for 18 months.
