Der Wein reifte 12 Monate lang in Fässern aus französischer Eiche, von denen 10 % Neuholz ausmachten. Nach Abschluss der 12 Monate im Fass wurde der Wein auf große ovale Fässer (foudres) umgefüllt, wo er ein weiteres Jahr auf der feinen Hefe verbrachte.
