The Spier Good Natured Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon reveals vibrant notes of blackcurrants and sun-ripened mulberries, beautifully complemented by hints of gingerbread spice and dark chocolate. This elegantly crafted medium-bodied red blend offers a delightful balance, with velvety tannins and a smooth, lingering finish.
Grown in deep, fertile, weathered granite soils, the vines, aged 15 to 20 years, are cultivated according to international organic standards. Mechanical maintenance of foliage and weeds fosters natural disease resistance, significantly reducing reliance on harmful chemicals.
The organically grown grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness, destemmed, and crushed in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation lasted up to 12 days on the skins, after which the must was transferred into stainless steel tanks with staves made from French oak to enhance the wine's flavor profile and length. The wine was then aged on its lees for 12 months, providing optimal structure and maximum aroma.
