The Spier Seaward Pinotage 2023 captivates with its deep ruby hue, gracefully accented by a violet rim. The nose reveals an enticing bouquet of dark cherries and ripe mulberries, enhanced by subtle hints of spice and vanilla that elevate anticipation for that first sip. The grapes were handpicked, destemmed, and underwent a two-day cold soak in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation, aided by selected yeasts, lasted for 15 days. Following fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in a combination of 80% French and 20% American oak barrels, where it aged for 14 months.
