With its deep plum hue, the Stellenview Kruger Family Reserve Shiraz 2021 emanates an intriguing bouquet of ripe fruit, rich plum and blackberry compote layered with hints of black pepper, clove, and licorice. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied experience defined by a velvety texture, where its lush fruit is elegantly cradled by subtle oak nuances. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a tempting impression of dark fruits and spices. This wine exemplifies exceptional balance and captivating elegance!
The grapes were hand-picked during the early morning hours and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, depending on the vineyard site. Each tank underwent a cold maceration phase lasting two to three days before being inoculated with selected yeast cultures. After fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurred in the tank, followed by 16 to 18 months of aging in small French oak barrels, showcasing remarkable aging potential of eight to 10 years, allowing it to develop wonderfully over time.
