The long-cherished ambition to create a blend of Pinotage and its parent grapes, Pinot Noir and Hermitage, has culminated in the Survivor Cellar Master Reunion, now available. The 2022 vintage showcases remarkable complexity, exhibiting a vibrant ruby hue that suggests an enticing flavor journey. On the nose, captivating aromas of cherries, strawberries, and a subtle touch of flint seamlessly transition into a well-structured palate with impressive length. Pinot Noir contributes spice and elegance, Pinotage adds body and rich fruit, while Cinsault harmonizes everything into a beautifully balanced finish.
Der Pinot Noir wurde zu 30% als ganze Trauben gekeltert, der Rest wurde entrappt. Die Trauben wurden zunächst einer natürlichen Gärung unterzogen und nach einer und mit ausgewählten Hefen beimpft. Die Trauben wurden mit einer Holzkorbpresse gepresst und in Fässern der malolaktischen Gärung unterzogen. Der Pinotage und der Cinsault wurden separat vergoren und gereift, und erst nach 20 Monaten Fassreifung wurden die drei Sorten miteinander verschnitten. Die endgültige Cuvée besteht aus 45 % Pinot Noir, 35 % Pinotage und 20 % Cinsault (Hermitage).
