The Survivor Reserve Chenin Blanc 2022 boasts an alluring golden hue with a slight green shimmer in the glass. Its complex bouquet is filled with aromas of ripe yellow fruits, lemongrass, citrus, and pineapple, accentuated by a hint of toasted almonds. On the palate, this wine reveals richness and depth with a medium-bodied, creamy texture enlivened by zesty acidity, promising remarkable freshness for years to come. The long, lingering finish showcases a beautiful interplay of flavors, leaving a lasting impression.
The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness at 23° Balling in the early morning to ensure they arrived cool at the winery. Whole bunch pressing was employed, followed by gentle pressing, and the juice was allowed to settle overnight. 60% of the wine fermented naturally in new 400-liter French oak barrels, while the rest was inoculated with yeast and fermented in second and third-fill 400-liter barrels. The wine matured in barrel for 11 months before blending and bottling.
