In a mesmerizing deep crimson hue, the Zandvliet Hill of Enon Small Berry Shiraz unveils a complex bouquet of blueberries, licorice, and dark chocolate. These delightful aromas seamlessly extend to a rich palate, featuring subtle oak nuances complemented by hints of plum, cigar box, and confectionary chocolate, culminating in a velvety finish.
The grapes for this Shiraz hail from a unique terroir that produces remarkably small berries, achieving full ripeness ten days earlier than those from neighboring vineyards. These concentrated grapes were hand-harvested to craft this exceptional Shiraz. Mention Zandvliet, and the resonance of 'Shiraz' echoes, as it stands among the first wineries in the country to bottle this noble variety, located along the picturesque Robertson Valley Wine Route.
Das Traubengut für diesen erstklassigen Shiraz wurde zerstoßen und zunächst einer dreitägigen Kaltquellphase bei geregelten 10°C unterzogen, bevor die Fermentierung bei kontrollierten 25 – 30°C ihren Lauf nahm. Die malolaktische Gärung fand bei 18°C statt. Nach Abschluss der Gärung reifte der Wein 18 -24 Monate lang in einer Kombination aus zweitbelegten französischen sowie amerikanischen Eichenfässern.
