The 2024 harvest presents a captivating chapter for Beau Constantia Pierre, a Sauvignon Blanc born from the unique terroir of cool-climate vineyards. Nestled high on steep northeast slopes, these low-yielding, wind-swept vines yield fruit that bursts with remarkable flavor concentration. Enticing aromas of star jasmine, lime zest, and lemongrass unfold gracefully, leading to a vibrant palate enriched with notes of white peaches and lychees that linger beautifully. This exquisite wine stands as a testament to its relentless spirit and distinctive origin.
The grapes were processed in small batches, undergoing a four-day cold maceration on the skins. This was followed by a natural fermentation and an additional nine days on the skins before being transferred to one new and one second-fill French oak barrel. After an 18-hour maceration, the grapes were pressed into two clay amphorae for co-fermentation: one porcelain and one terracotta, contributing to 59% of the blend. All batches matured for eight months on their coarse lees before bottling.
