International Women's Day: Celebrating Strong Women in Wine
Magazin | Journal Events, Südafrika
If you read us regularly, you know we always champion the women in the wine cellar. Today, on this occasion, it’s time to acknowledge them again. The media has long discussed the gender pay gap and the invaluable care work women perform. There's hardly anything women can’t do as well as men, and that without breaking a sweat. ;-)
Specifically addressing the wine industry in the Cape, that’s our job. What can we say? The success of women in that arena is undeniable. We can’t think of anything the best men do better than their female counterparts, at least not when it comes to the quality of their products.
This week, you can discover a selection of outstanding wines made by no less outstanding female winemakers in our shop, all at special prices.
Before you click through, we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the strong women on our own team. Without them, we wouldn’t be here at all. We wouldn’t have a presence on social media or advertising (Steffi), our processes wouldn’t be organized, and we couldn’t clear a single bottle (Vanessa). We wouldn’t send out newsletters or have detailed winery presentations (Simone and Silke). There would also be no intelligent texts on grape varieties and wine regions (Gaby) or products in the shop. We would lack wine descriptions, analytical data, and images (Claudia 1, Claudia 2, Ingrid).
In short, we’d be lost. International Women’s Day gives us men (Maik and Thomas) the chance to say this loudly and thank you, surely on behalf of our customers, whose wine cellars would otherwise be less colorful.
In the hope that you and our team continue to bring each other joy for a long time, we wish you a wonderful remainder of the week.
