Growing Region Robertson - South Africa
The Robertson district is also known as the "Valley of Vines and Roses".
The lime-rich soils are the ideal basis for viticulture. The district is located in the valley of the Breede River and is heavily dependent on this river due to the sparse rainfall. Although it can get quite warm in the summer, cooling southwest winds keep moist air flowing into the valley. Robertson has long been known for the high quality of its wines. Traditionally, the region has been praised as a white wine region, especially for its Chardonnay.

MORE INFORMATION
However, some of the Cape's best red wines also thrive here, particularly Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, the characteristic dessert wines for which the area was originally known (Muskadel, Jerepigo) continue to be produced. The Robertson district also comprises several sub-districts. Springfield, Danie de Wet, Van Loveren, Excelsior, De Wetshof, Bon Courage, Graham Beck and Wederom are just a few of the well-known wineries whose wines you will find in our Robertson range. The Robertson district is located in the Breede River Valley region and is further divided into the sub-regions of Agterkliphoogte, Bonnievale, Boesmansrivier, Eilandia, Hoopsrivier, Klaasvoogds, Le Chasseur, McGregor and Vinkrivier. All these regions are part of the Western Cape geographical region.
