Steenberg maintains its fame as the oldest vineyard in the picturesque Constantia Valley, widely known as South Africa's premier wine region.
With its cool, ocean-facing slopes and majestic granite ridges, this winery has earned a worldwide reputation for its excellent Cape wines. The state-of-the-art winery produces some of South Africa's finest award-winning wines.
JD Pretorius has been responsible for the production of Steenberg wines since 2009 and embodies the spirit of the new generation of winemakers. With his fresh approach and infectious enthusiasm, he has already contributed enormously to the success of the 2009 harvest. Steenberg Vineyard's flagship wines are Magna Carta (Steenberg's Bordeaux-style white cuvée), Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Steenberg's extensive portfolio also includes the award-winning Shiraz, Merlot, Nebbiolo and 1682 Chardonnay MCC.
